Many thanks to the Cancer care services level.4. Joyce.Tweddell. building. Cant thank the wonderful staff enough for my treatment on my recent visit. The Doctors, nursing staff & all others concerned were so helpful & genuine to me & i cannot speak highly enough of their care & the professional way they approach the patients entrusted to them. My fears/worries about my particular illness were discussed in an open & easy to understand way & when i left i came away with a feeling of great respect & regard for all. Also the good people at Cancer care service & their accommodation facilities were so helpful with transport & information . I am a humble man from a country town and my say so may not mean much, but THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR TREATMENT & CARE. Keith. Moss. Bundaberg. qld.4670. A MERRY FESTIVE SEASON TO ALL.

Surprised to see the 1 star ratings here. My mum spent several months here and I've nothing but praise for the doctors, nurses and all the staff. Really not very much that we could have asked for. Thanks to all for the dedication and support.

Was racially profiled today and treated like dirt. My mother took me to the emergency ward due to a vertebrae issue I had today. The nurse at the emergency ward treated me so poorly because of the way I looked. I've never encountered such racism and I felt uncomfortable being there. He asked me to turn around to look at where I was pointing to the pain then made me feel like a fool for turning around ... the nurse smiled and helped other non colour patients but when it came to me he looked at me with such disrespect and had such a bad attitude towards myself and my mother and literally said "we should go somewhere else" to us. We ended up waiting well over an hour whilst all the non colour people were seen too ones that were there much longer after us. We waited well over an hour before I told my mother I did not want to be there I felt uncomfortable. He Finished his shift around 3-4pm today 29/6/17 and has two ear gauges and wore glasses if I can recall. Would appreciate an apology from him.

It is taking me a while to write this rating and 5 years later I have to do it. my whole experience in the opthamology level at the hospital has set in my mind for all these years. Went in for a relatively straightforward surgery some time ago ago and was told it would be an easy operation and that I had the best surgeon around. I trusted these people wholeheartedly came out basically not being able to see very well at first and then another two surgeries later and I'm blind in my left eye . all surgeries were disasters I felt that the surgeon didn't like me from the beginning for some reason . he never really looked me in the eye when I tried to talk to him as I was very concerned and upset, in the end when I had my last appointment with him he wouldn't look at me in the eye and said oh well you know they'll be making bionic eyes soon ! Was the worst experience of my life and 5 years later here I am still worried and stressing over it because I trusted these people and was told they were the best and that he was the best surgeon for the job also was told that he was kind and caring well I never felt that he was that way with me. For the past 5 years I have been extremely upset about this whole experience . I have had two second opinions and was told that this surgeon had gone about surgery on my eye the wrong way, and that basically my eye is comparison to a car crash and cannot be repaired. I cry myself to sleep probably every 2 or 3 weeks thinking about what they have done

Hospitals are incredibly busy places, and when we're in pain and discomfort, we often tend to forget those practicalities. I've been to the RBH a few times over the years though, and have always received a high level of care. Especially when it's something really serious, they're amazing :)
